May bank holiday at Brean in Somerset

On Friday we performed at the Beachcomber in Brean. We’ve been performing there for over 10 years now….

We arrived early to test out our new Soundcraft FX16ii mixer (the 4th one we have owned in 14 years). Bass player Stuart also bought along his amazing new Ashdown Klyston 1200 bass amp. It was a really nice gig for me as my Uncle Rob and his partner came to see us for the first time in 2014. He has supported me and the band since it began, and has probably seen us over 20 times! We also performed to our number one fan; Ian James. Ian has been to see us over 25 times and he wore his Jamie and the first class T Shirt we presented him with a couple ago. Ian and his Mum Doreen are such wonderful people and a joy to perform to.

The owners of the venue Chris, Jon and Mike, Richard the manager, all the security and bar staff are so friendly and really look after us, so we keep going back year after year. It was drummer Simon’s and bass player Stuart’s debut performance at The Beachcomber and they both enjoyed the whole experience. Richard the manger always makes a pots of tea when we arrive at venue, it is most appreciated!
